Vivian McCullough

I am an award-winning author and experienced genealogist who enjoys uncovering stories from the past. I've been doing genealogy for 50 years (yes, I'm that old). My research skills took root when my first job had me working from the County Clerk's office. I found the old records fascinating.

My debut novel is based on a true story I discovered while doing research. The sequel, released in Oct 2025, continues the story of the Gotcher family of Central Texas. Both have garnered awards in the 2026 Texas Authors Best Book Awards, with "Pawnee Prisoner: The Story of Jane Gotcher Crawford" winning Best Historical Fiction Biography, and "TEXAS Tainted Dreams" winning Best Historical Fiction Western.

In addition to my published novels, I have also produced three family history books and written six children’s books specifically for my grandchildren.

I grew up in and around Dallas, Texas, before moving to the rural area of East Texas. I moved back to the big city but returned to East Texas when I retired. I am the mother of two and grandmother of nine, and I enjoy reading, writing, research, and spending time with family.
